The Role of Coherent Resonance
in Human Affairs
Part Three - Influences on Consciousness

Astronomy and Astrology

A long time before there there was the science of astronomy, there was astrology. Originally, there was no difference between astrology and what later became known as astrology. Even when early scientists began to separate astrology from astronomy, all astrologers were avid students of astronomy in order to improve the accuracy of astrological analysis. In reality, astrology was physical & behavioral genetics a very long time before there was even the conception of genetics as a science. This website shows some commonalities and differences between astrology and astronomy (http://hubpages.com/hub/Astrology_and_Astronomy-Similarities_and_Differences).

In the manner of thought by the author, it seems that early peoples searching for meaning in the natural phenomena around them noted the rhythmic/cyclic occurrence of those phenomena. They also noted that the behavior of people seemed to follow certain aspects of natural phenomena, what we now know as elements of the Solar System and relates to celestial mechanics. Throughout the ages, these aspects were cataloged and codified according to cultural parameters. Eventually, these codes were used to predict behaviors according to the re-occurring patters found in nature and the heavens, a natural progression of thought. Codes are tools, tools subject to miss-use like any other tool.

The hypothesis put forth in this work is that DNA transcription is keyed by response to celestial mechanics through coherent resonance with the gravitometric and electromagnetic fluctuations found in the living environment. The sets of genes responding to these periodic fluctuations allow for survivability in the various environmental niches provided in the biosphere. Information provided by the biophotonic interaction of all the cells of the physical body goes to make up the mental, emotional and physical characteristics of each individual. The time, place and date of conception on the Earth determine the matter that is collected by the fetus by coherent resonance with ingested/inhaled components by the mother during gestation. These 3 factors (along with the evolutionary progress of DNA and gene development that has led to the vast array of inheritable human characteristics) will determine the mental, emotional and physical characteristics of the developing organism through coherent resonance with the gravitometric and electromagnetic flux of the immediate living environment.

It is difficult to separate the affect that the date, the time and the place upon the Earth at the moment of conception (the union of the sperm and egg) play in subsequent zygote formation. The reason for this is that this moment in space/time is unique and the celestial backdrop will not soon return to this configuration. From the point of view in the development of the fetus, the place of conception upon the Earth will mostly determine the gravitometric backdrop. The time and date will mostly determine the incident electromagnetic flux upon that point of the Earth.

The ephemerides (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephemeris) describe where the planets are within the backdrop of the constellations at any moment in time, and in this case birth. This is what astronomy has to tell us and is the original reason for the study of the stars and planets. They also tell us what star constellation is rising in the east on the horizon at the time and place of birth. This information allows anyone to compose a natal/birth chart. All you need is simple arithmetic or a computer program to do this, which is the easy part. Now, as to the interpretation of the result, this is the difficult part!!

The author has composed natal charts and interpreted them since 1973. The author took up the study of astrology in the middle of successfully working toward a Doctorate in Behavioral Biology. A friend, whom was in the College of Fine Arts, asked me if I knew anything about astrology. Being the typical scientist in training, my response was to scoff at the idea of astrology. However, my friend asked me, as a scientist, how I could simply dismiss a concept if I had never studied the concept in question? I had accepted the normal scientific view that astrology was bunk, as I was properly brainwashed by my peers in academia. For a week, I wrestled with the idea of should I or should I not at least satisfy to my mind the validity of astrology? As a scientist, could I do no less? Is this not what science as a discipline is about?

Now, almost 40 years later, I am beginning to understand why astrological analysis actually does work as it is touted to do. I am still wrestling with some of the concepts of astrology but this is what true research is all about. It is true that most of my research is empirically based as it is very difficult to conduct studies in astrology due to the fact that that there is so little accurate data of birth circumstances in families. This is due to political, religious and social bias. My thesis is that all astrology is gene based and I would need accurate birth data much like a student of genealogy. I am attempting to discover genetic parameters to human behavior that yield the patterns ascribed by astrology. This is no easy task. What follows is my personal attempt to do so.

I have been actively meditating since the age of 4 years. In my mid-thirties, I meditated for 14 to 16 hours a day for a year and a half. The last 10 months I was awake 24 hours a day. I learned the beingness of my physical body, my emotional body and my mental body. Being a trained behavioral scientist, I avidly endeavored to understand my abilities in terms of the scientific world. I continue to pursue neurophysiology, behavior and biochemistry in relation to human consciousness. I know that there are 7 nodal centers of behavioral expression that are located at the core of my physical body that relate to but be not the major neuro-endocrine and hormonal glands (http://diamondhead.net/ncnhc.htm). I first composed in 1994 a synthesis of biorhythms, brain science, astrology and yoga (http://diamondhead.net/tmw.htm) and later in 2006 a proposed neurophysiological basis of the astrological matrix (http://diamondhead.net/amnhb.htm). Since my studies in Informational Medicine beginning in 2009 (http://www.journalinformationalmedicine.org/hbf.htm), I am now ready to attempt this newer conceptual synthesis. It will be incomplete, as the study of natural phenomena in the affairs of mankind never ceases.

There seem to be 2 poles of activity: Earthly and extraterrestrial. I have previously alluded to the gravitometric aspects of Earthly rhythms. Here might be a good place to introduce the concept of the Hartmann & Curry Grids (http://www.crystalinks.com/grids.html). These grids are places of emergent gravitometric and magnetic influence. Please read the above link and study online for more information, and please remember that almost everyone has a hidden agenda!

The Hartmann and Curry waves form a grid over the entire Earth. The lines of the Hartmann Grid, named after its discoverer Dr. Ernst Hartmann, run north to south as well as east to west, forming a checkerboard pattern. The distance between the lines may be different in your area, depending primarily on the rock beneath the soil where you are living, which will cause some variance. The lines of the Hartmann grid are about 2 meters by 2.5 meters with lines N-S 2 meters apart and lines E-W 2.5 meters apart and both being 21 centimeters in width. The Curry Grid, named after Dr. Manfred Curry, runs diagonal to the Hartmann Grid, from northwest to southeast, southwest to northeast. The distance between Curry lines is about 4 meters apart and being a width of 50 centimeters. The lines of both grids alternate states between (+) and (-). Thus one may have an overall (+), neutral or (-) spot where the lines intersect. The geomagnetic fluxes of these grids rhythmically pulsate within the overall geomagnetic field of the Earth. These lines [and their interacting degree of (+), neutral and (-)] are responsible for the phenomenon of geopathic stress and centers for healing [Lourdes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lourdes)].

Thus the Earth is one end of the pole and mostly Sol (but also other electromagnetic origins) is the other end of the pole. The Earth is designated as (-) and Sol as (+). Please remember that the CNS is involved with electromagnetic phenomena (+) and the ENS is involved with gravitometric (-) phenomena. Electromagnetic phenomena affect the pineal gland and the hypothalamus to regulate diurnal cycles. The traditional Chinese medicine time clock is below:

These 2 nodes correspond to the violet and indigo charkas respectively. There are 7 rainbow chakras to match the 7 rainbow colors of electromagnetic frequencies and their harmonics.

The other 5 chakras match the other 5 endocrine glands. This yields a matrix with which to consider in regards to the concepts of astrology. Astronomy cites 13 constellations in the celestial ecliptic surrounding the Earth. Astrology recognizes 12 constellations. I wonder if there should not be 14 instead to match the 7 chakra nodal centers? But, let us continue.

There is a saying in metaphysics that "as above, so below". Early proto-scientists recognized then the existence of 4 conceptual states of physical matter: solid/Earth, liquid/Water, gas/Air and energy/Fire. There are 7 chakras, so how do we fit these 4 states into this schema? If we assign the core of the Earth to Fire, that leaves the crust to Earth, the seas to Water and the atmosphere to Air. Next is a leap in intuitive thought, the basis of hypothesis formation. The conceptual hypothesis of astrology by the author relates the basal chakra to Fire, the sacral chakra to Earth, the solar chakra to Air and the heart chakra to Water. Now the order is followed in reverse so that the throat chakra is Air, the brow chakra is Earth and the crown chakra is Fire. The heart chakra is designated as zero with (+) designations above & (-) designations below: (-3) Basal, (-2) Sacral, (-1) Solar, (0) Heart, (+1) Throat, (+2) Brow, (+3) Crown.

These 4 physical states are also the Triplicities of astrology (3 sets of 4 elements).

Past brain research has shown that the consciousness resides in the left hemisphere of right-handed persons. The left hemisphere is the region of acute focus and directed effort. The right hemisphere is the region of extensive neural networking. Psychologists attribute male attributes to the left hemisphere and feminine attributes to the right hemisphere. Here in all cases we are talking about the mental body. The emotional body lies within the limbic system and associated thalamic structures that also handle short-term memory. All sensory input goes to the sensory cerebral cortex. This information is processed in the forebrain and a decision sends input to the somatic cortex for voluntary motor movement. The motor coordination of complex voluntary movement and long-term memory are both coordinated by the cerebellum. The pineal gland and the hypothalamus lie at the center of the brain and the hypothalamus sends input to the pituitary gland, also in the center of the brain. There is only 1 of each of these 3 structures as opposed to the dual nature of the cerebral and cerebellar cortices. The input from these structures goes to autonomic nervous system coordinating centers in the medulla oblongata (again bilateral in structure). Outflow signals into, coordination and then out of the medulla proceeds via the spinal cord to the spinal ganglia. Input (I) and output (O) from the spinal ganglia connect with the skin, the internal organs, gut blood vessels and the 2 portions of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system has the getting ready for action and shunting blood away from the gut and to the muscles as the sympathetic portion. The other portion is called the parasympathetic system and shunts blood to the gut, shunts blood away from the muscles and gets the body ready for rest/sleep. This is the factual I/O of the entire CNS neural network.

Recent brain research has shown the there are 3 major neurotransmitters within the cerebral cortex that produce 3 kinds of outflow from the various cortical regions. These are Dopamine (DA), Serotonin (5-HT) and Norepinephrine (NE). Research (http://diamondhead.net/chapt12.htm) has shown that DA modulates novelty seeking or Cardinal type behavioral activities, 5-HT modulates Harm Avoidance or Mutable type behavioral activities and that NE modulates Reward Dependence or Fixed behavioral type activities. These are also the 3 Quadraplicities (4 sets of 3 elements) of astrology.

The above described 3 sets of behavioral expression that give to us the following correlations:

  1. Astrological (-) & (+) Polarities = Earthly magnetic/gravitometric flux & Sol electromagnetic flux = Structural DNA transcription & regulatory DNA transcription
  2. Quadraplicities of Astrology = Cardinal, Mutable and Fixed = DA, 5-HT & NE
  3. Triplicities of Astrology = Fire, Earth, Air, Water = Energy, Solid, Gas, Liquid

The 7 chakras and their nodal centers are at the core of the physical body (http://journalinformationalmedicine.org/hbf.htm). What will be described next is the experience of the author and the subsequent understanding acquired by 60 or so years of meditative experience. The experience of others may be quite different according to their experience and their constitution.

There are 2 general aspects of experience during meditation: one is of the physical body and the other is of consciousness. The purpose of going through the physical body in a systematic manner at the beginning of the meditative practice is to monitor all aspects of the physical body that relate to health: all energy is flowing freely, there are no vascular blockages, there is no pain, there are no blank spaces & there are no adverse electromagnetic or gravitometric influences impinging upon the body. If anything comes up that needs to be taken care of, it is accomplished. This sets the stage for a more subtle and deeper protocol concerning the core and energy flow.

As one is sitting in the meditative pose after going through the physical body, there are 2 major thrusts of subtlety: core and energy flow. If any HBF alignment issues are present, core aspects will be prominent. If no alignment issues are at hand, energy flow will predominate. You may focus the attention on one or the other but both are always present as an integrated experience and inseparable. Please view this link for more information - (http://diamondhead.net/bp01.htm).

The core matrix presents as the 7 nodal points of energy crossover from (+) to (-) and again to (-) to (+) much like looking at a sine wave on an oscilloscope (above the midline as (+) and below the midline as (-). However, the whole left side of the body is (+) and the whole right side is (-) in orientation as an integrated whole, for this author. A swaying may develop from side to side at a given frequency. This frequency seems to be tied to the lower chakras as the upper chakra frequencies are to quick to sway to, in regard to body musculature. This left to right and right to left awareness is but 1 of the 3 orientations of the subtle energy flows. This sideways orientation seems to be that of the energy that flows in the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This orientation seems to be the gravitometric/magnetic component of the Electromagnetic wave coursing through the body.

Another orientation is from front to back and back to front. This orientation seems to be the electric component of the electromagnetic wave. In addition, there is a definite time component that seems to move through the HBF from the area behind the body, through the Heart Chakra and projects from the front of the body, as a personal time line.

The last orientation is into the HBF/physical body and into the head at the Bregma (http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/bregma) from interstellar space, traversing the body and then exiting out of the body at a point between the anus and the coccyx (the electromagnetic wave). Concomitantly, entering the HBF/physical body at the point between the coccyx and the anus is the gravitometric wave from the core of the Earth that traverses the body and exits out of the body at the bregma. The (-) component seems to move up through the front of the body while the (+) component seems to move down the back of the body.

These 3 orientations are those of the normal space-time continuum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacetime). The lower 3 chakras are predominantly involved with the gravitometric wave and the 3 upper chakras are predominantly involved with the electromagnetic wave. The Heart chakra is the interface between the 2 wave fronts that allows for physical body formation. The heart is the first non-nervous system organ to develop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prenatal_development). The subjective experience of the 2 wave fronts balanced about the heart chakra is that of 2 interlaced pyramids yielding a tetrahedron. Another way of thinking about this wave overlap is that the 3 lower chakras are more dealing with the gravitometric/magnetic component in a gradual lessening upwards influence. The strongest being the Basal chakra and the least being the Crown chakra. The reverse can be said for the influence of the electromagnetic wave moving downwards to the Basal chakra from the Crown chakra.

According to Yogic tradition (http://www.psi-researchcentre.co.uk/article_2.html):

  1. The first Chakra, Muladhara (root), is located at the base of the spine. Its color is red and its issues are survival, stability, and self-sufficiency.
  2. The second Chakra, Svadhisthana (sweetness), is located at the lower abdomen (between belly button and pubic bone). Its color is orange and its issues are sexuality, creativity, relationships and emotions.
  3. The third Chakra, Manipura (lustrous gem), is located at the solar plexus (between belly button and bottom of rib cage). Its color is yellow and its issues are personal power, self-esteem, willfulness and energy.
  4. The fourth Chakra, Anahata (not struck), is located at the heart (center of the chest). Its color is green and its issues are love, compassion, acceptance, and trust.
  5. The fifth Chakra, Vissudha (purification), is located at the throat. Its color is bright blue and its issues are communication, inspiration, expression, and faith.
  6. The sixth Chakra, Ajna (to perceive), is located between the eyebrows, just above the bridge of the nose. Its color is indigo blue and its issues are psychic, emotional and mental intelligence, and intuition.
  7. The seventh Chakra, Sahasrara (thousand petaled), is located at the crown (top) of the head. Its color is white or violet and its issues are devotion, inspiration, selflessness, and spiritual understanding.

The next step is to make a correspondence between the various astrological signs and the chakras. The chakras and their hormonal correlates come first as this is the reality that is being described. Is the above figure congruent with reality? To a great degree, it seems so. Let the start be with the Basal chakra. This center seems to deal with personal survival, energy and being grounded with the living environment. The Sacral chakra appears to be involved with territoriality, reproduction and physical construction. The Solar chakra deals with social matters, community and politics. The Heart chakra deals with kinship, emotion and healing. The Throat chakra deals with mental creativity, self-expression and curiosity. The Brow chakra deals with ego, focus and decision-making. The crown chakra deals with intuition, personal destiny and divine guidance. The Basal chakra deals with Fire and there are 3 constellations that are assigned to Fire: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. The Sacral chakra deals with Earth and there are 3 constellations that are assigned to Earth: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. The Solar chakra deals with Air and there are 3 constellations that are assigned to Air: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Lastly, the Heart chakra deals with Water and there are 3 constellations assigned to Water: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. The poles are assigned according to chakra emphasis to Earthly or Celestial events: Fire & Air to (+) and Earth & Water to (-).

The Quadraplicities are used to differentiate each set of Triplicities. The Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. These signs initiate activity and set things in motion. The Fixed signs are: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. These signs seek stability and resist change. The Mutable signs are: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. These signs seek to avoid conflict while moving toward perceived goals.

The astrological Signs are a convenient division of the Milky Way into 12 sections of influence upon general behavior. Broadly speaking, the 12 signs of the Zodiac can be divided into both the masculine and feminine, positive and negative, or, active and passive. The masculine signs are Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius, whereas the feminine signs are Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces. In the work by Dr. Fuzeau-Braesch entitled "Astrology Off The Beaten Track" (http://www.anomalistbooks.com/sfb.html), she describes the Signs as with "Well adapted" and "Badly Adapted" characteristics. Please read her characteristics. A generalized schema otherwise is below:

  1. Aries: Cardinal Fire, masculine, keyword "I am"-the process of building a personality, self-centered, self-directed, leader, pioneer, courage, executive, energetic, impatient, need to learn coordination, completion and conservation, often has headaches from a failure to relax, negative attributes are arrogance and the need to dominate-rules head
  2. Taurus: Fixed Earth, feminine, keyword "I have"-will, stubborn, has lessons in life with acquiring a true sense of value, slow, steady, latent power, money, long suffering, kind and gentle-jealousy, greed and possessiveness (based on a fear of loss) may need to be overcome-rules the throat and the cerebellum
  3. Gemini: Mutable Air, masculine, keyword "I think"-duality, conscious mind, sense of humor, butterfly of Zodiac, wit, Chinese monkey sign, twins Castor & Pollux represent earth-heaven duality in us that needs to be harmonized, highly geared nervous system, superficial, must control thinking-rules hands, shoulders, arms, lungs and nerves
  4. Cancer: Cardinal Water, feminine, keyword "I feel"-mothering, sustaining, nurturing, womb, home, the interior of all things, the covering and protective principle, the most subconscious sign, no issue is direct or clear, difficulty separating thoughts from feelings, sluggishly moving energy-rules the breasts, stomach and the solar plexus
  5. Leo: Fixed Fire, masculine, keyword "I will"-the most vital of all the signs, fire of the heart, steady controlled fire of affection, faith, active power, loyalty, confidence, needs to learn dominion over self rather than over others, to delegate authority, and detachment (to give their warmth and affection to all)-rules the heart and the spine
  6. Virgo: Mutable Earth, feminine, keyword "I analyze"-discrimination, critical, inferiority complex, desire to reach highest possible perfection for self and others, love of details, true friend, fullest expression through service to others, highly geared nervous system, shy, home important-rules the assimilative system
  7. Libra: Cardinal Air, masculine, keyword "I balance"-unions, marriage, relationships, conflict between the need to be all things to all people and personal integrity, peace at any price, the "iron fist in a velvet glove," sweet, diplomatic, secretive about finances and personal matters, executive and legal minds-rules the kidneys
  8. Scorpio: Fixed Water, feminine, keyword "I create"-sex, death, catharsis, rebirth, strong passions, need to learn cooperation, equality and stability in relationships, reserved, power of silence, would rather sting itself to death than forego the pleasure of stinging, creative, resourceful, possessive-rules the generative system
  9. Sagittarius: Mutable Fire, masculine, "I perceive"-human/beast centaur shooting arrow heavenward to liberate self from lower nature, sports, gambling, "don't fence me in," friendly, extroverted, philosophers, teachers, priests, salesmen, con men, innate understanding of people, may be superficial in first half of life-rules liver, hips, thighs
  10. Capricorn: Cardinal Earth, feminine, keyword "I use"-ambition, social power, success, hard worker, expediency, tradition, strong ties to mother and home, may be colder to those who are closer than to acquaintances, leadership, persistence, materialism-rules the bones, skin and the knees
  11. Aquarius: Fixed Air, masculine, keyword "I know"-individualists, rebels, mental pioneers, difficulty cooperating and in partnerships due to a strong will that allows no interference, inflexible, more emotionally involved in work than with people, needs to feel love rather than to think it, futurists-rules the ankles and the circulation
  12. Pisces: Mutable Water, feminine, keyword "I believe"-sensitive, moody, introspective, surrender and submission to whatever stream they're in to lose a sense of separateness, this world is not their habitat and the need to escape is strong, need to be alone and to retreat for renewal, serve or suffer, inferiority complex, feels unworthy-rules the feet

This is a beginning that works out quite well. Thus, the combination of Sign of the constellation and the 3 sets of behavioral expressions above give to us a fairly clear idea of the Astrological Matrix. Please see below:

  1. Aries is (+), Cardinal and Fire
  2. Taurus is (-), Fixed and Earth
  3. Gemini is (+), Mutable and Air
  4. Cancer is (-), Cardinal and Water
  5. Leo is (+), Fixed and Fire
  6. Virgo is (-), Mutable and Earth
  7. Libra is (+), Cardinal and Air
  8. Scorpio is (-), Fixed and Water
  9. Sagittarius is (+), Mutable and Fire
  10. Capricorn is (-), Cardinal and Earth
  11. Aquarius is (+), Fixed and Air
  12. Pisces is (-), Mutable and Water

You will notice that the polarities alternate and that the Quadraplicities and Triplicities also alternate their runs to yield 12 distinct behavioral combinations of gene sets. Remember that it is the thesis of the author that astrology describes actual gene sets!

Remember that the adage of "as above, so below" means that we need to keep in mind that the 3 chakras below the heart are reflected also above the heart. This means that Aries, Leo and Sagittarius deal with the Crown chakra; Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn deal with the Brow chakra; and Gemini, Libra and Aquarius deal with the Throat chakra. Only in the Heart chakra are the energies of the gravitometric/magnetic waves balanced with the electromagnetic waves with only 1 type, rather than a blending of 2 types, of expression for the Water signs. The Fire, Earth and Air signs have a lower and upper expression that are blended to yield a set of possibilities according to the plasticity, learning and experience of the individual.

The study of personality is the purpose of psychology. The work of Dr. Cloninger has suggested a generalized theory of inherited personality traits in human beings (http://diamondhead.net/chapt12.htm). The study of behavioral genetics (http://www.personalityresearch.org/bg.html and http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/elsi/behavior.shtml) seems to be in a state of infancy. Work in this field is quite difficult (http://www.sciencemag.org/content/291/5507/1232.full). Work in the field of genetics has yielded a much better understanding of the interaction of environmental cues, DNA regulation, cytoplasmic events and cellular biology. However, all is a work in progress.
